Über die Zeitschrift

The „Analecta Praemonstratensia“ is an international scientific periodical dealing with the history of the Norbertine order on an academic level since 1925.

The content of the “Analecta Praemonstratensia” is structured as follows:
Articuli: larger original contributions based on actual sources (not a synthesis of existing literature);
Miscellanea: smaller contributions dealing with particular houses or topics, e. g. library, artefacts, archeology, etc;
Documenta: critical editions of historical documents; recent documents, e. g. on canonization processes;
Recensiones: reviews of different publications dealing with the order’s history in general or with the history of a house in particular.

Desired Fields of Research:

• History of the order, especially of its constitution, statutes, comparative history of religious orders, circaries; particular canonries only, if the topic is of interest for a broader audience,
• History of theology, philosophy and spirituality of our order,
• History of liturgy,
• Legal history,
• History of literature or science, incl. history of libraries,
• History of arts and archeology,
• History of music.

• History of Norbertine missions in the 19^th and 20^th century
• History of the many houses and communities founded in 19^th and 20^th century.
